Tip toe into 2009

2008 is a special year.
Because I finally believe in change.

Nothing is impossible.
I am telling you, nothing is impossible.

Oh wait, maybe something is impossible.
But after you refresh your mind with the opposition's splendid victory in Malaysia after 51 years; and the first black president in the history of United States,
Yea, seriously, nothing is impossible.

If some Mars-homosapien hybrid actually come from year 3100 to tell the earthlings about the extinction of cockroaches in the future so that we can protect them from now, I have to say, 'I am not surprise at all.'

Well, besides these great changes which have left significant footprints in history, I change as well.

I switched my course from law to management studies, when I once strongly opposed to the idea of me involving in something called 'business' or 'corporate world';
I steered my career plan from charity management to fashion, when fashion NEVER EVER appeals to me as a career option before;
And I adjusted myself from blind faith to reasonable doubts, regardless of how stubbornly I wanted to believe in the goodness of people.

So, the lesson is everything can change, and we can never stop change.
Whether we like it or not, it happens. All the time.

So for year 2009, I will make neither resolutions nor promises.
Just hope for the best. :)

p.s. Not to say I will not make any resolutions ANYMORE - well..we will never know right?...lol..

Back to the eve, it was a quiet and peaceful evening.
With Shaun (Danny's best friend) staying with us in Sheffield, we had a simple and yummy dinner.

Shaun made baked chicken.
I cooked Loh Hon Zai (mixed vegetable stew) and Kiong Chong Zhu Yok (fried pork with spring onions and ginger).
And of course the finale was my homemade apple crumble.

Satisfying meal.
White wine.
Soothing old school music.
Three of us.
Relaxing night.

What can be better than this for a good start of a year?

Don't know why...
I don't really miss the fireworks, crowded streets, countdowns, poker cards, drinking games etc.
Not anymore.

I think I will call this - aging effect. Lol.

Old people like me am totally fine and content with a peaceful start of the year.

Happy new year. :)
